BC Chamber of Commerce Statement on Potential 25% US Tariffs

In response to the announcement by US President-elect Donald Trump that he will introduce a 25% tariff on all products from Canada when he is inaugurated in January 2025, Fiona Famulak, President and CEO of the BC Chamber of Commerce, released the following statement:

“This news is very concerning to the BC Chamber of Commerce, the 100 local chambers of commerce and boards of trade in the province and the 36,000 businesses that we represent. A tariff of this magnitude will have significant consequences for BC businesses of all sizes and will negatively impact communities and workers across British Columbia."
